3D Model Scale Calculator

Rescale a 3D model by percentage or target dimension and see the resulting size, volume change, and material estimate.

Original Model Dimensions

mm

mm
If provided, the scaled weight will be estimated.

Scale Method

%
100% = original size. 200% = double. 50% = half.
mm
The model will be uniformly scaled so the chosen axis matches this size.

How It Works

This calculator lets you rescale a 3D model and instantly see how the dimensions, volume, and material requirements change.

Scale by Percentage

Multiply each dimension by a scale factor. Uniform scaling preserves proportions; non-uniform scaling lets you stretch or compress each axis independently.

  • New dimension = original dimension × (scale% / 100)
  • Example: 100 mm at 150% = 150 mm

Scale to Target Dimension

Choose one axis and specify the desired size. The calculator determines the uniform scale factor needed, then applies it to all three axes to maintain proportions.

  • Scale factor = target size / original size on chosen axis

Volume & Material Change

Volume scales with the cube of the linear scale factor. Even small percentage changes have a large effect on volume and material usage:

  • Volume ratio = scaleX × scaleY × scaleZ
  • Doubling size (200%) increases volume by 8×
  • Halving size (50%) reduces volume to 1/8 (12.5%)

If you provide the original weight, the scaled weight is estimated using the volume ratio, assuming the same infill density and material.
